42) Who is Really Asking You to Save Money?

Many other sales materials looks like to show you on how to save money.

But in actual fact, it is only to reduce the cost per unit of the things you buy..

You will also see advertisement on "Buy More to Save More.".


 Have you commonly see this in the market, "1kg = $4, 3kg = $10."

You often see posters that show you “Buy 2 & Free 1”..





The concept is to show you that you can save more money by buying more.

When you analyze further, you will realize that you are actually spending more to get a lower cost per unit.

Eg. 1 unit = RM15.
“Buy 2 & Free 1” means you have to pay RM15 x 2 = RM30. 

The good thing is that you are getting 3 units.
The cost per unit is RM30/3 = RM10 each.
So, you save RM30 – RM20 = RM10.

Wow…

So, instead of spending RM15 only to buy 1, you are going to spend RM30. Basically you had just been "encouraged" to spend more and not save more.
